FSE is introducing a "Maximum Cargo" parameter for aircraft models. This is primarily intended for aircraft capable of carrying massive amounts of fuel weight, but which are mainly intended for passenger use (example: bizjets, "fighter planes"). However, the same restriction may be applied to any aircraft where limiting cargo weights is desirable.
What is changing: Most BIZJETS and small "flight seeing" aircraft will have their cargo capacity significantly reduced.
The change is that "Total Payload Capacity" will no longer be a simple function of Maximum Takeoff Weight minus Empty Weight. All current FSE Aircraft can carry a total Cargo Assignment load equal to their Maximum Total Payload Capacity minus Fuel Weight minus Crew Weight. The aircraft database will be updated to include a new parameter for each aircraft model called "Maximum Cargo", which will restrict each make/model to a pre-determined amount of allowable cumulative weight for cargo assignments.
By default, all aircraft will be assigned a "Maximum Cargo" value that is equal to their "MTOW minus Empty Weight minus Crew", resulting in zero change from the way things are now. However, certain aircraft will have that Maximum Cargo value modified to reflect a much lower value that is more inline with that aircraft model's intent and purpose within the FSE World.
The majority of FSE Aircraft will NOT see any changes.
Why is it changing: To more accurately model the intent, within FSE, of certain aircraft types which have no realistic reason to carry more than a minimal amount of freight. To prevent aircraft with extremely high MTOW capacity (due to large fuel requirements) from leaving the fuel tanks nearly empty for the purpose of loading tons of cargo weight. This will also apply to other aircraft which have small MTOW values but which also have no realistic reason to carry freight.
Additional updates:
1. New "Max Cargo" parameter added to Aircraft Model information pages on Game World website
2. New "MaxCargo" parameter added to "aircraft model" datafeed
3. Aircraft Specs page updated to change "Payload - No Fuel" (using a calculated value) to "Max Cargo - No Fuel" (using the new database value)
4. MyFlight (version 2) page is now the default MyFlight page. Old page is still available, but is planned for removal
5. MyFlight (version 2) page has a new comprehensive Payload Table for the "Getting Onboard" section, showing maximum values, current values, remaining values.
6. Multiple updates to the MyFlight (version 2) page to address earlier reported bugs and clarify several areas, as well as a completely new, comprehensive MyFlight page in the user manual.
List of Aircraft:
Below is a list of aircraft that will be changed immediately. NOTE: Any of these aircraft that are currently airborne during the code update will not be impacted for that flight. However, the next attempted takeoff will be subject to the new maximum cargo restrictions.
